Computer Engineering studies are strongly based on Computer Sciences, Engineering Sciences, Mathematics, Electrics and Digital Electronics. Great technological advances have as their main element the computer, which is composed of the hardware (devices) and the software (programs). However, the perception that a high technology product has an embedded computer is not always evident. The area of knowledge that studies this integration between product and embedded technology is called Embedded Computer Systems. We increasingly interact with a variety of intelligent products and objects on a daily basis. In a futuristic scenario, although not necessarily derived from science fiction, is the one where every object of human interaction has an embedded computer. Thus, the challenge of building this scenario is mainly the responsibility of Computer Engineers, who have the ability to create, analyze, design and implement large-scale construction processes, employing innovations originated by the intersection between the sciences and technologies available to them.
